Golf, tennis, lawn bowls, ovals, barbeques, and playgrounds are available nearby.The town was a thriving major transport route during the 1850s gold rush and later during the Murray riverboat trade between Milang and Port Adelaide. It’s mainstreet is as wide as it took to turn a bullock team, it had it’s own brewery and it’s two taverns the “Three Brothers Arms” and the “Macclesfield Hotel” still offer excellent cuisine.

Gum Tree Lodge is ideal for groups and get-to-gethers. Centrally located in Macclesfield village. Gum Tree Lodge x6 consist of an upstairs unit that has bedrooms, lounge and an equipped kitchen with plates, glasses etc, bathroom and 2 separate toilets. The cost is $45 per person which includes all linen. A minimum charge of $250 applies (the online deposit with the balance, pending numbers, payable on arrival). Maximum numbers are 8 persons in 4 bedrooms. Please contact the manager to correct the default bedding arrangement of 2 rooms with queen beds, 1 room with 2 single beds.
